Koko opened her eyes slowly and stretched, feeling a bit disoriented. Then she felt a hand on her waist, turned and saw him.

He was asleep, breathing softly. She raised her head and watched him, a little smile curving her lips as she remembered their night of passion together.

She snuggled close to him, her head on his chest, inhaling his scent, his chest rising with each breath he took.

From the pale light filtering in through the curtains in the window, she could tell it was nearly dawn.

As she rose from the bed, a hand drew her back.

"Oh, you're awake," said Koko.

He smiled at her. "So, you were sneaking off, thinking I was asleep," Chuks said, as he held her close.

"Not really. I wanted to get my phone."

"Let your phone be. I need you here," he said, his hand slipping from her waist to her chest.

His cool fingers caressing her body sent tingles all over her, making her strain harder against him.

She moaned his name as he took her, her mind and body awash with sensations, lost in the moment and in him...

They fell asleep after and it was the persistent ringing of the phone that woke Koko up some hours later.

It was Chief. "How's my beautiful wife today?" he asked. "You sound sleepy. Are you still in bed by this time?"

"We slept late. The baby was crying and kept us awake."

"I see. How's he and Anna?"

As they spoke, Chuks woke up, kissed her on the cheek and went to the bathroom. Soon, she could hear the sounds of running water as he showered.

"Come home soon. The house is not the same without you," he said before ending the call.

She sat staring thoughtfully at the phone for a moment then got up and went to the bathroom. She stood by the door, watching him, noting the way the water cascaded over his head down his strong, powerful shoulders to his hips and legs.

His back was turned to her, his head facing up to the shower head to receive the spray of water on his face.

Koko picked a shower cap from the rail and with her hair covered, stepped inside. She slipped her hands round his waist and pressed her body against him.

He turned round slowly and held her by the waist.

"What did he say?" he asked, gazing at her through the spray of water.

"Nothing much. Just checking on me." She picked up the soap but he took it from her.

"Allow me." He began to soap her, starting from her neck and arms. Then he cupped her breasts, his thumbs rubbing her nipples till they hardened and her breathing quickened.

"Chuks," she said softly, drawing his head close and kissing him. She needed to dress up and go over to Anna's place to check on her and the baby especially since her husband, Dumo had travelled to his village for a burial but that could wait.

She wanted him there and then. He was like her fix that she had to have to feel fine...

"What did you say, Koko? You did what?" Anna asked. She hurriedly placed the baby on the bed and turned to her cousin in amazement, a shocked expression on her face.

Koko had just told her who she had been with the previous night.

"You heard me. Chuks and I spent the night together at the resort. We are staying there till tomorrow."

"But Chuks works for your husband. Are you telling me you're having an affair with your husband's staff?" she almost shouted.

Koko nodded.

Anna shook her head. "That's deep. And crazy. I just don't..." She paused, seemingly lost for words, which was unusual for a loquacious person like her.

"I know," said Koko. "It's really crazy getting involved with him. But I can't seem to help myself. I think I'm in love with him."

"Wow! That's quick. You just started seeing him and you've already fallen for him?"

Koko shook her head. "My feelings for him have been growing for quite sometime. I kept fighting it but for how long could I do that?"

"Well, all I can say is, I hope you know what you are doing. You're an adult, not a child. I can't tell you how to live your life. But have you considered the consequences? Like what will happen if Chief finds out you're cheating on him? It won't be pretty I bet you."

"I know. We'll be careful, though, so he doesn't know about it. We won't be flaunting ourselves all over the place for sure!" she said, with a slight grin.

The baby woke up and began to cry. While Anna attended to him, she called Chuks. He had gone to town to see a friend and she wanted to find out if he was done so she could start heading back to the hotel.

She was already missing him and wanted to be with him though they had only be separated for a few hours...
