Kano State government on Thursday directed closing of all primary and secondary schools in the state from Monday.

The State Commission of Education Muhammadu Sanusi Kiru announced this at a news conference in Kano.

He advised parents of students in boarding schools to pick their wards from Sunday 22nd of March.

The Commissioner said the decision to shut schools became necessary as a measure to guard against coronavirus disease

‘’The closure is not intended to create panic but a preventive measure in the face of the threat posed by the disease across the globe,’’ Kiru said.
